Media Arts Lawyers- the best media arts law company in the whole of Australia! Moving onward and upward from their previous (very cramped) tenancy, Stephen King & David Vodicka needed ICON INTERIORS to transform the blank three-storey canvas into a cranking office.
A slightly offbeat, Chicago- esque vibe throughout complements their work & collection of framed band photography which now adorns the walls. Contemporary black framing to the windows to mimic steel framed windows accentuates the edgy design. Sparing pops of red both reference the brand & provide colour to the space.
Transforming the new work space from an empty shell to a functioning office for Media Arts Lawyers was bread and butter for our wonderful ICON TradeTeam!
The three level Melbourne office fitout included converting the ground floor 4-car garage to a 2-car garage & a boardroom, a staff breakout & kitchen. A new shower added to the small storeroom created an awesome end-of -trip facility for all the team at Media Arts Lawyers. On the first & second floors, new ducted air conditioning to meet with compliance (as required by the Building Code of Australia to provide fresh air), stunning glass fronted offices for senior lawyers & partners, and workzones with shelving for the junior lawyers create the perfect environment for Media Arts Lawyers to grow as a company & continue to excel in what they do.
A feature phone booth in this office fit out Melbourne, was complete with feature red carpet, Spectrum in Crimson by Godfrey Hirst, allowing the junior lawyers within the team to have acoustically private phone calls, and doubles as a small catchup meeting between colleagues.
Working with the existing new landlord installed carpet, the design team put together a black, grey, white & timber base colour scheme, interspersed with touches of vibrant green & red to liven the space. In the ground floor boardroom ideal for easy client access, a simple border of Godfrey Hirst Spectrum in the vibrant Crimson gives this contemporary boardroom an offbeat vibe, and a small touch of color to the otherwise neutral space. Giving the effect of an expensive custom rug (but with the convenience and budget friendliness of modular carpet tiles), this boardroom flooring is an example of the ever-present thinking of the in-house ICON INTERIORS DesignTeam – to provide form as well as function. The existing ceiling is a stucco spray adding stunning texture to the very finished space, contrasted with the timber look laminate ceiling feature which mirrors the table in size & colour. One wall is left blank as a canvas for their many, many awards for record sales to be proudly hung. The Board room back wall of this office fit out Melbourne features dark grey acoustic panel providing a deadening surface, compensating for the reflective surfaces on the remaining 3 sides.
In the kitchen and breakout area, the classic combination of timber, white & black is given an industrial touch with a tap from Dorf . The white subway tiled splashback with contrasting grout continues the understated class found throughout the 3 floor office fitout. Providing an insight into the ICON INTERIORS DesignTeam’s thought pattern of understated class, a tiny touch of red & the subtly repeated motif of the company's logo gives the space personality and company ownership within the new workplace.

What our clients say...
"ICON were fantastic to work with from the initial meeting, design and planning stage through to the delivery of the finished office. The on-site team handled the works with the minimum of fuss and were always available to discuss any concerns and to provide updates of all of the work as it progressed. I would not hesitate to work with ICON again." Stephen King - Partner, MEDIA ARTS LAWYERS
