Sprout Psychology
An existing cluttered and dysfunctional general practice medical centre, is now a peaceful psychology clinic exuding calm.
Originally built as a residence, this former medical clinic was noncompliant including doorways and wiring, with many structural posts throughout affecting the clinic floorplan and usability. While working around structural areas, Icon Interiors created a new floorplan accommodate all of Sharen’s requirements, creating a clinic with maximum functionality, additional capacity while providing logical people flow and wayfinding.
With the Psychology clinics main clientele being both children & adults on the autism spectrum, the brief was for a non-stimulating, non-threatening space where the patients would immediately feel safe. Catering for both adults & children, separate waiting spaces were created to reduce noise disturbance and negative interaction between the neurodivergent clientele.
With acoustic performance being a massive priority for privacy reasons, our proprietary acoustic strategies achieved a private & confidential environment for client consultation best results. Working within a compact footprint and structural limitations, the end result is a light & airy, peaceful and calming safe space, ticking all client-brief boxes.
