KLINT Intensive Neuro Therapies – Glen Waverley

Klint is a forward-thinking private neurological physiotherapy practice dedicated to treat adults and children with neurological, vestibular, and facial conditions.  ICON INTERIORS used the science of colours when designing & building Klint’s new physiotherapy clinic. The green & blue themed design reflects their supportive culture & their emphasis on care & wellbeing.  The client was able to log in to their project portal remotely through Buildertrend, to monitor progress onsite with daily reports and other factors such as when payments were coming up & due. This gave everyone peace of mind & a sense of transparency & confidence while the works were being actioned. With their mission of care for others being apparent in everything they do, transforming this medical fitout Melbourne was a rewarding project to be a part of.

"I'm impressed with the outcome, it’s a complete transformation when you enter the practice" Peter Bow – Klint

Leanne, Keegan & Peter came to us disillusioned and with little hope left. They had spent thousands already with an engineer & many hours with residential builders who didn’t have the correct registration for the work, all with unsatisfactory results.

Converting a house to a medical clinic in Melbourne requires an extra level of knowledge. Many aspects need to be tweaked to bring the space up to code so the tenancy can legally be used as a medical clinic fitout in Melbourne.

For example, there are minimum requirements as per the BCA (Building Code of Australia) that must be fulfilled to secure a towns planning permit (if required- click here to learn more) building permit (always required! Click here to learn more) & gain legal occupancy. Some factors to consider include widths of doorways and latch side clearance for disability access, disabled toilets, carparking & disabled access via ramps.

House to medical conversions in Melbourne are complex, but simple with the right team. Klint ran into some problems when they tried engaging a residential builder to work on the house, but a team with a commercial building license was needed. Luckily, we have the required registrations to help them.

At first Leanne was very concerned about spending more money, this time with us for the Planning & Building Permits, as she was unsure if they would be able to convert the house to a medical clinic fitout in Melbourne. As a guarantor, we  promised to return half of the initial payment if we were unsuccessful, being fully confident in being able to get the permits required for the medical fitout in Melbourne.

In addition to obtaining the permits which they thought unobtainable for the proposed use of the tenancy, we did a lot of engineering work, enabling the space to have bigger rooms, ideal for what they do, where they need a lot of space for their patients, rehabilitating them to walk.

The Design Team look inspiration from the work they do with their valued patients, creating a fun pattern in the carpet which is used to inspire children and adults alike to take the next step to the next colour on the floor. The motif & their three colours are repeated on the walls and the reception counter, adding a fun touch without adding expense.

In addition to the interior transformation we completed for this house to medical conversion in Melbourne, we also developed carpark plans as a part of the permit and installed a concrete carpark with an integrated ramp to the front door, achieving disability compliance.

Klint are a wonderful group with a wonderful ethos! We loved working with them to help them in their very admirable mission, rehabilitating people back to independence.

Happy client projects!
